Legalization

Submit all documents to the Embassy of Libya for legalization along with the money order. You must include a photocopy of both the money order and all documents.

Fees:

  • Authentication of certificate of origin: $40.00
  • Authentication of commercial invoice: $40.00
  • Amount of goods totaling $50,000 and below: $50.00
  • Amount of goods over $50,000: $1.00 per $1,000 of value, and $1.00 for any fraction of $1,000 rounded up to the nearest dollar
  • and $1.00 for any fraction of $1,000 rounded up to the nearest dollar
  • Authentication of commercial agreement: $300.00
  • All other legal documents: $100 (including power of attorney, articles of incorporation, health certificate, etc.)
  • Authentication of diplomas and school credentials for Libyan students: FREE (as long as the student provides copies of his/her Libyan passport or birth certificate)
Fees are ONLY accepted in money orders made payable to the Libyan Embassy in U.S. Dollars

  • Documents with missing requirements & fees will not be processed
  • For documents sent via mail, please include prepaid return envelope (USPS, FedEx, or UPS - We do not accept FedEx ground)
  • Processing takes 7-10 business days

    This is a reminder for non-commercial Institutions
    Here is a revised list of the required documents for registration:
    1. Organization's foundational documents (constitution or bylaws).
    2. Minutes of the inaugural meeting.
    3. Operating license of the organization from the country of origin.
    4. Official letter naming the branch manager and deputy, including passport copies if the manager is a foreign national.
    5. Official letter naming the legal representative and legal advisor, along with copies of their passports.
    6. Official letter detailing the sources of funding.
    7. Reports outlining planned activities and summaries of completed work and activities in recent years within Libya.
    Please ensure that all papers and documents are translated into Arabic and certified by both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country of origin and the Libyan embassy (for institutional accreditation, not commercial).
