The Embassy of Libya Hosts an Education and Cultural Experience Event in Washington, D.C.
On 5 February 2021, the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) in Geneva concluded voting on the country's new transitional leaders who will preside in their roles until elections on 24 December 2021 take place.
As for the results of the voting, Mr. Muhammad Yunis Al-Manfi has been elected to become the new president of the Presidency Council, with Mr. Abdel-Hamid Dabaiba serving as prime minister, and Mr. Moussa Al-Koni and Mr. Abdullah Al-Lafi as the new council members.
The Embassy congratulates the Libyan people on reaching an elected and unified government that will represent all Libyans, which will lead the country to elections on 24 December 2021. We at the Embassy hope for peace to prevail during this new transitional period, and hope that the new elected government will receive ample support for the benefit of all Libyans.
