The Embassy of Libya Hosts an Education and Cultural Experience Event in Washington, D.C.
On 18 October 2021, Chargé d’Affaires Khaled Daief and other members of the Embassy’s diplomatic and support staff attended Bell/Textron Aviation’s “Demo Days” at the Manassas Regional Airport in Virginia, showcasing a wide array of state-of-the-art aircraft with advanced technology.
During the event, Bell/Textron representatives conducted tours of aircraft on display, giving Embassy staff the opportunity to see aircraft purchased by the Libyan government and other similar models. In addition to this, all staff partook in a demo flight of the Bell 429 helicopter, experiencing firsthand the aircraft’s capabilities and maneuverability.
On 14 December 2020, members of the Embassy participated in the hand-over of a new Textron Aviation Cessna Citation Latitude Model 680 for the Libyan Air Ambulance team (LAA), with a model showcased at the Bell/Textron event this past week. To that end, Bell is currently working with the Libyan Ministry of Interior and the LAA to support their efforts to expand the LAA’s critical emergency response, with certain proposed models of helicopters shown and experienced by Embassy staff during “Demo Days.”
