Ambassador Holds Conference Call with Chairman Deutch (D-FL)

 On August 13th, 2020, Ambassador Bughaighis conducted a conference call with Congressman Ted Deutch (D-FL-22), Chairman for the Subcommittee on the Middle East, North Africa, and International Terrorism on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, to discuss the latest developments on the conflict in Libya. Additionally, both conversed regarding the importance of enhanced diplomatic engagement by the United States in supporting the efforts towards stabilization in Libya. Finally, Ambassador Bughaighis and Congressman Deutch convened on the topic of H.R.4644, the “Libya Stabilization Act,” which is scheduled for a floor vote in the U.S. House of Representatives in September.
